Y4iT 2009 September 8 – 11, 2009 Location: UP Film Institute, UP Theater, Ang Bahay ng Alumni The Philippine Youth Congress in Information Technology, or Y4iT, presents information and communications technology in a brighter light. It showcases current trends, knowledge sources, and career opportunities in this field. The UP FLIPP was again part of this momentous event. Together with students from Roosevelt College, the members and applicants handled the task of welcoming the event participants to one of the main venues, the UP Film Institute. Coming as early as 6 AM, they tirelessly collected ticket stubs, gave out congress kits, and answered the participants’ inquiries. Some volunteers also functioned as ushers who dealt with the seating arrangements inside the venue. Before the event itself, the UP FLIPP also took part in the packing of congress kits. Post event, some members also encoded relevant ticket information for the raffle draw. The final chapter was the victory party wherein all the volunteers were rewarded for their hard work. Throughout the event itself, the members and applicants of UP FLIPP learned valuable lessons in punctuality, efficiency, and personnel management. These values will surely help them in future Y4iT events and other affairs of this magnitude.
